Destination Hindu wedding of Sedick and Tasneem in South Africa

I love working with people from all walks of life and enjoyed learning more about the Hindu tradition through photographing the wedding of Tasneem and Sedick. This wedding was a 2 day affair which started off with a Mendhi celebration for Tasneem , which was a party only attended by the bride's close female friends and family members, where Tasneem received beautiful henna paintings on her hands and feet and where the women shared food and blessings together whilst being entertained by belly dancers. A super interesting and colourful evening!

A most colourful, fun and intimate kick start of the big wedding celebration itself, which was planned the following day.

Set nestled under table Mountain, the couple got married at the table Bay hotel, where their celebration was vibrant, and full of tradition. Whilst the very essence of a Hindu wedding ceremony is the physical, spiritual, and emotional union of two people, it's also about the coming together of two families through prayer and celebration. With over 150 guests Tasneem and Sedick where showered with Hindu song, prayer and blessings.
