Micro wedding at The walled garden in Staverton, Devon with Claire and Hugh
In the midst of lockdown this lovely couple decided to not let it stop them getting married and to celebrate their love with their dearest. With a wish to be surrounded by the beautiful nature of Devon, they travelled down from London and chose to have a very intimate celebration in a magical gem of a location; a 200 year old walled garden in Staverton.
I met Claire and Hugh at Totnes Town hall first where they made their vows in front of their dearest friends and family, a wonderful group of around 15 people. We then all travelled to The walled garden in Staverton, which is run by the most inspiring couple who are botanical artists. It was the perfect setting for this intimate affair, guests could soak up the beautiful surroundings from benches dotted around the garden, and once in a while there was a spontaneous dance on one of their lawns and drinks where enjoyed in the sunshine.
Claire and Hugh warned me that pretty much most of their guests were quite shy and introvert people beforehand, so it felt an honour to be their photographer at such an intimate affair. It was lovely to hear feedback from Claire that all the guests felt very at ease with me being around and that they were thrilled with the end results. Thank you for letting me capture your day and I wish you both so much love and laughter on your journey in life together!
“We are so pleased Annemieke photographed our intimate wedding. She is a true professional with an adventurous spirit! On the day she immediately put our guests and us at ease, which was a relatively hard task considering how many of us were introverts, who did not like having our photos taken! We are thrilled with the final photographs, they are diverse and captured the day perfectly. We really appreciated the smaller details and the spontaneous, natural shots that she managed to capture on the day. Annemieke was so fun and easy to be around. We were blown away by her energy and enthusiasm. ” - Claire
